Helen Hudson Boyt

Helen Hudson Boyt, 79, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2003 at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.

Helen was the wife of Jack Boyt, a pioneer of Airform technology. He was also instrumental in the development of the foundation and patterning system used to design the Monolithic Airform. In 1988, Monolithic purchased Precision Air Structures from Jack and operated it in Des Moines, Iowa for two years before moving the company to Italy, Texas in 1990.

In a letter to Monolithic this week, Jack expressed his love to everyone involved with Monolithic, "You all at Monolithic are part of my extended family. Helen put up with my dual marriage - Helen and Monolithic - and she provided great support. We in Iowa take solace in knowing we were blessed with the very best years of her life. Wished for more, but count our blessings."

Jack's wife, Helen was born and raised in Knoxville, Iowa and lived her adult life in Des Moines. She was an antique dealer for over 35 years. She was a graduate of Iowa State University with a major in journalism and a minor in textiles and clothing. Helen is survived by her husband, Jack, 3 sons and 2 daughters, 12 grandchildren, 1 sister and 2 brothers.

Services were held on Wednesday, October 22, 2003. Memorials may be made at Reiman Gardens at Iowa State University.
